A challenge I faced was analyzing the website from a first-time user's perspective. Since I frequent this website, I'm familiar with some of its quirks, so I tried not to write these off.
I would remind myself how a first-time user might react on their user journey. I decided to have someone who had never visited the website before, perform the same tasks I did. Once they reached the end, I interviewed them to get any final thoughts.
Finally, I compared my interview notes to my user journey notes. The following mapped assets are where my notes intersected.
